Masterpiece Theatre Elizabeth, with Rose at her side, gets involved in a fracas as part of a group of young upper-class women who are suffragettes. Both are arrested, but A wealthy entrepreneur, Julius Karekin, posts bail for Elizabeth before she is... (more) jailed. Rose remains behind bars and witnesses the horrendous treatment that the imprisoned women receive. Elizabeth visits the home of Karekin and begs him to use his influence to have her fellow activists and Rose released.
