Summary
Pratt and Kerry must adjust to new roles. It’s the first day on the job for the medical students and interns, and Neela and Gates have a tough start. A closeted, older gay man with kidney failure comes to the ER. Gates doesn't fill out his chart prop... (more)erly mixing up the medication he's on. Pratt gives him calcium which leads to heart failure due to the wrong medication on the chart. Gates goes against Pratt's orders and saves the patient's life, but he is brain dead, which ultimately makes things worse on all fronts, especially with Pratt.
