Summary

Countess Danielle Vaughn was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, a small town of approximately 7500 people. She was born to Leo and Sandra Vaughn who taught in the local schools. Very early Countess established herself as a young singer with a dynamic voice by... (more) performing in talent competitions across the state of Oklahoma. A fan at one of these competitions submitted a video of her singing to Star Search, and in 1988 she sang her way to stardom by becoming Star Search Junior Vocalist Champion. From there her TV career was born. Countess had expressed on Star Search that 227 was her favorite show on television, and the producers of the show offered a supporting role to Countess for the fourth season. She was nominated for a Young Artist Award for her portrayal of Alexandria DeWitt on 227. Countess had recurring roles on Hangin' With Cooper and Roc, and soon after was offered the part of Kim Parker for Moesha. After four seasons of Moesha, the popularity of Kim Parker's character inspired a spinoff called The Parkers, which co-starred Mo'Nique. The Parkers was an instant hit and it became the #1 show among African American viewers. During The Parkers, Countess married Joseph James and had her first child, Jaylin. Despite its success, the show was cancelled five seasons. Vaughn appeared in the third season of Celebrity Fit Club. During the show she made a shocking announcement that her marriage was ending and became the first cast member to ever gain weight, with a weight gain of four pounds. It was said on the season finale that she was simply trying to lose weight at the wrong time. Find out the full story of what she's been up to since the show ended and her failed marriage. Watch as we explore Countess Vaughn's Life After The Parkers.
