Malloy and Reed are assigned to transport a prisoner from Malibu to Los Angeles for outstanding traffic warrants. The prisoner is also a witness in a mob murder and a hit has been ordered on him. Reed is captured by hit men attempting to get assistance, but Malloy and the prisoner steal the hit men's car to get to a phone and LAPD sends the police helicopter to search for Reed, who ends up overpowering and capturing the hit men. NOTE: This is the episode of Adam-12 seen on the television in the "Emergency!" Season 1 episode "Hang-up"
