Masterpiece Classic Things are going well for Logan and he is pleased to be able to provide for his wife Freya and his baby daughter Stella. Things begin to change with the outbreak of World War II when Logan is recruited as a British spy by Ian Fle... (more)ming. Before long, a mission separates him from his beloved Freya and Stella and places him in a very dangerous place, the Bahamian inner circle of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Additional missions bring more separation from loved ones, and soon Logan's luck runs out. He becomes a prisoner of war and is placed in solitary isolation. The only thing worse than his imprisonment is what he discovers upon his return home. Devastated by war and tragedy, Logan looks to America and New York City to begin anew. Outwardly, Logan soon becomes a great success, but appearances can be deceiving as inwardly, he has many unhealed wounds. He says, "Your past never leaves you...it comes back and grabs you by the throat." He is eventually drawn back to England to be with his dying mother. He also begins a relationship with a glamorous new lover, Gloria Scabius, and is given another chance as a father. As the scene shifts back to Logan, the old grizzled man, he finally opens a box from his past and must survive what he finds. So too must the middle-aged Logan survive another catastrophic blow.
